Why I Wish I Still Lived In Utah

Stop, collaborate, and listen. No, I'm not talking about the Nickelcade, Fat Cats, or the Jazz. I'm talking about THIS amazing reunion concert straight out of 1991:

It looks like I left Utah five years early. Maybe next time, Stanley Burrell and Robert Van Winkle.

I don't get it. Both "U Can't Touch This" and "Ice, Ice Baby" (M.C. Hammer and Vanilla Ice's most recognizable singles, respectively) were released in 1990. Why in the world would attendees of this concert be required to "dress 80s?" I could understand it if it was a Flock of Seagulls/Bangles concert, but the concert promoters here obviously have no idea what they are doing.

I think the flock of seagulls was in the 40's...

My husbands friend from highschool's band opened for this concert....we really wanted to go but couldn't figure out a way to make it really worth it!

How is it possible that we aren't still living in P-town for this? Sometimes the universe is so very cold and cruel.
